sky watching

Night Sky Watching is my hobby....

After evening meals, in the night, relax under the open sky...lie down or sit in an easy chair,
stretch your legs on a stool.. feel the cool wind, look at the dark sky above....watch millions
of stars above...

.... best relaxation one can ever get !

Today, on 6th May 2017, watched the Iridium Satellite passing by the moon at 19.49 hrs in 

the evening. Moon was at  about 60 deg elevation on the eastern horizon. Exactly at specified
time, the satellite passed by the moon. Its solar panels shining in the sun light....were not so
bright ...my small pocket digital camera could not capture the video. But I could see the flash
for about a second or two.

Few years back, I had seen ISS in the evening, passing over my town, at about 7 pm, it was
quite bright and was orbiting the Earth at a great speed. From west to east, I could see it for
about 2 minutes. I could photograph it (video) in my digital camera.

visit to nasik

visited nasik on 1st sept to see a garden of unusual trees in
indira nagar. it is planted and maintained by retired forest officer.
many new types of trees were observed. Due to monsoon, they were all green, no flowers.
one must visit the place in March-April 08 to see the flowers.
